The Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre goes high-tech April 1-4 in Morgan Auditorium with two dances that are the result of collaboration between the dance program and the College of Engineering. Performances: April 1-3 at 7:30 p.m. and April 4 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets: $9 for students; available at Rowand-Johnson Hall box office, noon to 5 p.m. weekdays, 348-3400, and www.crimsonartstickets.com.

Crossroads Community Center is hosting a Celebration of Scottish Culture April 3 at 4 p.m. in 232 Ferguson Center. Refreshments will be served. More information: 348-6930.

Capstone International Center will host coffee hour Friday, April 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 121 B.B. Comer Hall. More information: Sheila Malone at 348-5402.

The Dance COLEctive, a top contemporary company from Chicago, will present a free public performance of “Written on the Body” Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Morgan Auditorium.

The Criminal Justice Career Fair will be hosted by the department of criminal justice April 10 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on the third floor of Ferguson Center. The fair is open to the public and will feature various local and federal law enforcement agencies. More information: Tom Allen at 534-7685.

Relay for Life at UA will be April 11 from 6 p.m.–6 a.m. on the Quad. Compete with other groups on campus to raise the most money and win the top fundraiser award for 2008. More information: cac.bama@gmail.com.

The African American Studies Program will have an open house week April 7-11. Highlights of the week include a writing workshop, Black Environmental Thought Symposium, a film screening, speakers, the “Race & Place in the American South” Sixth Biennial conference, and talks by acclaimed novelist, poet and performance artist Sapphire. The Off-campus Housing Fair will be held April 2 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. on the main floor of Ferguson Center. Various property managers will be present to provide information about their rentals. More information: Julie Elmore at 348-6676.

Phi Sigma Pi will host a poker tournament April 4 at 7 p.m. at Palisades Apartments. Proceeds will benefit Teach for America and Phi Sigma Pi. More information: Nate Bush.

Creative Campus Initiative is seeking presenters for the third annual AL’s Award Show to be held on May 1. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to join the fun and glitz. More information: Creative Campus at 348-7889.

SOLOs Wilderness First Responder Course (WFR) will be held May 12–20 at UA Outdoor Recreation. This course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as back-country trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers. ACADEMICS

Apply for an SGA book scholarship. Applications are now available for book scholarships for fall. Nine $400 scholarships will be awarded. Applications can be picked up in the SGA Office, 356 Ferguson, and are due back in the SGA office by 4:45 p.m. April 18. More information: Sarah Simpler.

Arts and Sciences Advising Workshop: Finding a Major and Minor that Fit. On April 3 from 4-5 p.m. this workshop will help students who are still exploring majors and minors. Topics will include: advising (who to see), changing divisions, the declaration process (where and when to declare), resources, and career information. More information: Wendy McMillian at 348-7324.
