…U.S. News and World Report named the UA school No. 32 among all law schools nationwide. The magazine rated the UA College of Arts and Sciences’ graduate program in clinical psychology 62nd and the College of Education 87th. UA’s School of Library and Information Studies, part of the College of Communication and Information Services, ranked 30th; while it was included in this year’s ratings, the library school was evaluated in 2006…These are impressive achievements – even more so for the fact that they were made at Alabama colleges and universities. They should not be jeopardized by the Legislature, which is considering Gov. Bob Riley’s plan to cut funding for higher education by 13 percent.
