One of the memorials will be for the students who died at Enterprise High School. And the other will be for the Enterprise community. The University of Alabama ensemble group has also composed a special song just for the event. That will be held on Friday, Feb. 29.

Astronomy professor William Keel and Timmy Brockett, a senior majoring in physics, watched asteroid 2007 TU24 as it raced across the sky Tuesday night…Keel and Brockett tracked the asteroid with a high-powered telescope…Keel said tracking this asteroid would not have been possible before Gallalee Hall was renovated three years ago and an updated telescope was installed. “The past telescope was hostile to digital images,” Keel said. “Now we can have students practice their study without leaving the building.” The viewing was not open to the public because of the limited amount of telescopes. Keel said only one person could be at the eyepiece at the “magic moment.”…

SGA holds first Meet Your Senator day

Students with complaints relating to the University can bring any issues up to their college’s senators at the first Meet Your Senator day today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Senators will be stationed in booths outside each of their respective colleges for students to meet and greet or bring up anything they would like to see changed. “We want students to come out and take the opportunity to meet their senators,” said Madeline Barter, executive vice president of the SGA. “I think it will be a more approachable way for students to express their concerns.”…
