UA Social Work Professor Receives Fulbright Award

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Dr. Ellen Csikai, associate professor of social work at The University of Alabama, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the University of Debrecen in Hungary during the 2007-08 academic year, according to the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Csikai will teach in the College of Health during the spring 2008 term. She will also assist the College with curriculum development for their masters program in social work.

She is one of 800 U.S. faculty and professionals who travel abroad through the Fulbright Scholars program. Established in 1946, the Program’s purpose is to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the rest of the world.

The U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars.
