Red Diamond Funds Two Scholarships at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Red Diamond Inc, one of the three oldest coffee and tea companies in the nation, has announced that they will fund two premier scholarships for students majoring in restaurant and hospitality management in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama.

These scholarships, covering full tuition for two students for an academic year, will be awarded on a competitive basis and selection will be made by the faculty in UA’s restaurant and hospitality management department.

Begun in 1906 by William Fitz Donovan with just a coffee product, Red Diamond Inc. has been continuously operated over the past nine decades by members of the Donovan family. Today it serves its customers with over 6,000 beverage and food service products.

UA’s College of Human Environmental Sciences, established in 1917, offers degrees in apparel and textile, athletic training, consumer sciences, early childhood development, financial planning and counseling, food and nutrition, family and consumer science education, health studies, human development and family studies, and interior design. The college is well known for its comprehensive approach to higher education. Students seeking degrees in professional service industries are well served by its academic programs, classroom instruction, real-world experience and mentoring by seasoned faculty.
