Radio City Rockettes Dance onto UA’s Campus

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Radio City Entertainment is offering a comprehensive summer training program with The University of Alabama through June 12. Promising young dancers connect this week with the professional dance world through intensive study with Radio City Rockettes to learn their dance style – a true American art form.

This is the third year the program, known as the Rockette Summer Intensive, has been offered at UA. All classes are taught by New York-based Radio City Entertainment Rockettes and UA faculty.

The Rockette’s world famous precision dance technique transcends a multitude of dance disciplines and includes: jazz, tap, musical theater, post modern, lyrical, Latin, and of course, the legendary kick line. Program curriculum focuses on original choreography and formations from the Rockette repertoire plus specialty classes with distinguished University of Alabama faculty, culminating in a performance.

  • Classes and rehearsals are daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Group education seminars are held in the evenings.
  • Classes are offered at ability levels following the initial placement audition.

The final Showcase performance will be Saturday, June 12 at 11 a.m. in the Gallaway Theatre. Tickets go on sale today from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in room 115 Rowand-Johnson Hall or purchase them at the door using cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). All seats are $5
