UA Football Players Will Challenge Student Ambassadors in Third Annual Croquet Bowl April 17

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama football players and Bama Belles (hostesses for the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics) will go face-to-face with student Ambassadors from the College of Arts and Sciences in the third annual Croquet Bowl held Saturday, April 17, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m at Woods Quad.

The Croquet Bowl will raise donations for the United Way of West Alabama. Sponsorships include a $100 donation to United Way for sponsoring an A&S Ambassador, a $75 donation for sponsoring a UA football player, $50 to United Way for a Bama Belle, $25 to sponsor a wicket sponsor, and a $25 donation to sponsor a ball.

Crimson Tide football players will team up with Bama Belles and will compete against A&S student Ambassadors in order to win the Croquet Bowl trophy.

UA Head Football Coach Mike Shula and other members from the Crimson Tide coaching staff will be there to coach the football players and Bama Belles. Faculty members and administrators from the College of Arts and Sciences will lead the student ambassador’s team.

Both teams are tied with one win each, so this year’s Bowl will be the ultimate tie-breaker. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free event. Autographs from team members will be available at the conclusion of the event.

A representative from the United Way will serve as a referee for the Croquet Bowl that will be played according to U.S. Croquet Association rules for Nine-Wicket Croquet. Three games will be played.
