Several Campus Roads Close During UA Residence Hall Construction

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Beginning April 17, several sections of roads on The University of Alabama campus will close to begin the construction of the new residence halls being built near Rose Towers.

According to UA Parking Services, the following are the roads that will close:

  • The Pool Road at McCorvey Drive and the Riverside Amphitheater Road at Hackberry Lane (Therefore, the road that passed the Riverside Pool and Amphitheater will be completely closed and parking in that area will not be accessible)
  • 7th Avenue north of 2nd Street (just past AIME and Bevill Buildings)
  • Hackberry Lane north of the Bevill Building at Research Drive and south of the Highlands Apartments

Additionally, the entrance to Rose Towers will change back to the old entrance off McCorvey Drive. Only limited through-access will be allowed from the Hackberry entrance to the Rose Towers lot for residents of Rose Towers, Highlands and Clara Verner.

For more information about these changes, call 205/348-8391, or visit the UA Parking Services Web site at www.bamaparking.ua.edu for a map of the construction site and plan to adjust your travel plans accordingly.
