UA Recreation Center Holds Ultimate Athlete Contest

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Student Recreation Center is holding the Ultimate Athlete competition today through March 20. The competition is open to all UA students who are not intercollegiate or former varsity athletes.

The contest is divided into a men’s and women’s division with cash prizes awarded in each category.

The Ultimate Athlete competition is a challenging contest in seven different areas of athleticism. Each day will test different skills that make up the ultimate athlete. Participants will earn points for their best six events.

The competition includes these events:

Tuesday, March 16 — Home Run Hitting Contest, 6 p.m., SRC fields complex Punt, Pass & Kick Contest, 6 p.m., SRC fields complex

Wednesday, March 17 — Bowling Contest, 10 p.m., Bama Bowl

Thursday, March 18 — Basketball Skills Contest, 6 p.m., SRC gymnasium
Bench Press Meet, 6 p.m. in the SRC weight room

Friday, March 19 — Swim Meet, 7 p.m., Aquatic Center

Saturday, March 20 — Road Race, 9 a.m., SRC parking lot

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each category. The top three overall winners in both the men’s and women’s divisions will receive $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place. The winner of each individual event, men’s and women’s, will receive a $50 prize.
