Members of UA Men Against Violence Sponsor White Ribbon Campaign

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — During January, members of Men Against Violence at The University of Alabama are sponsoring the White Ribbon Campaign, an international campaign in which men make a pledge to help stop violence against women.

As part of the pledge, men are to wear a white ribbon signifying their promise to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence towards women. Men are also encouraged to participate in “These Hands Don’t Hurt” a visual display of paper hands that men sign in an attempt to end violence against women.

The white ribbons and hands will be available at UA Get-on-Board Day Jan. 21 and in the Ferguson Center on Jan. 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at a table set up by Men Against Violence. Information concerning the white ribbon campaign and violence against women will also be available.
