Existing home sales in Alabama increased 11.5 percent in July to 4,872 units, making July sales the highest recorded in a single month, according to the Alabama Real Estate Research and Education Center at The University of Alabama.

When Dr. Margaret “Peg” Lyons talks with cancer patients about the emotional toll the disease takes on their lives, she brings a lot to the discussion. She has more than 20 years’ experience as a hospital nurse, worked for a hospice agency, concentrated in psychiatric mental health nursing while earning her master’s degree and she holds a doctorate in social work.

UA Students Receive ASME Clarke Scholarships

The mechanical engineering department at The University of Alabama College of Engineering recently received a Clarke Scholarship fund from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. UA was one of six chosen nationally for this scholarship award.
