UA Student Named Health Education Major of the Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Leroy Gant of Berry was recently selected the 2003 University of Alabama Health Education Major of the Year by the American Association for Health Education.

Gant, a student in the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences, will be presented with a certificate at the American Association for Health Education national convention in Philadelphia. He will also be recognized in “HExtra”, the newsletter of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

The UA College of Human Environmental Sciences was established in 1917. The College offers degree programs for careers in apparel, textiles, athletic training, consumer sciences, early childhood development, financial planning and counseling, food and nutrition, family and consumer science education, health studies, human development, family studies and interior design.
