TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Capstone Club will present a check for $100,000 to The University of Alabama during halftime of UA’s basketball game against the University of Georgia, Tuesday, Feb. 18. The presentation brings to $300,000 the amount the Capstone Club has donated to UA within the last three years.
“Without a doubt, this contribution would not have been made possible without the support of The University of Alabama and our dedicated membership,” said Phillip Wright, general manager of the Capstone Club.
The presentation will include a few fun surprises designed to get the crowd involved with, and exposed to, the Capstone Club. All fans will be encouraged to hold on to their ticket stubs to be eligible for a special promotion, sponsored on behalf of the Capstone Club. As part of the promotion, two University of Alabama coaches will participate in a free throw contest.
“We like the warmth and hospitality the Capstone Club has offered the Alabama family,” said Jeff McNeill, vice president for advancement at The University of Alabama. “They really try hard to make you feel welcomed and appreciated.”
The Capstone Club, with more than 470 members, has been honored as Golf South Magazine’s “Third Best Private Golf Course” in Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.
“The team at the Capstone Club is excited on their second year of providing a quality golf family environment,” Wright said. “The plans and vision for 2003 are to continue building on our many successes of 2002 while we will continue to focus on taking care of the membership and continue to exceed their expectations through planned club events and activities.”
