UA Alumni Director Named Secretary of CAAE Board

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama Director of Alumni Affairs Pat Whetstone was recently elected secretary of the Council of Alumni Association Executives (CAAE) board of directors. He will serve a three-year term in this office.

“I am pleased with the opportunity to serve as an officer of the CAAE board of directors,” Whetstone said. “This experience will give me an inside view of the best practices of the largest and most comprehensive alumni associations in the country.”

Whetstone is a 1967 UA graduate. He joined the UA National Alumni Association in 1988 and was named as director of Alumni Affairs in 1991.

CAAE is an organization comprised of 85 of the largest and most active alumni associations in North America. Membership is open only to the chief alumni officer of each institution.
