TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama student Jennifer Traywick of Clanton was named as a recipient of the 2002 Florence Hood Miner Award. The award is given annually to members of Delta Zeta sorority who are in their junior year and have made the greatest contributions to their college chapter and Delta Zeta through outstanding leadership on campus while maintaining a good academic record.
Recipients of this award are representatives of Delta Zeta’s standards of excellence in leadership, scholarship, community service, and fostering the values of sisterhood.
The award is named after Florence Hood Miner, Delta Zeta national historian, and is in recognition of her service as national vice president, editor of The LAMP of Delta Zeta, and many other national offices.
Delta Zeta Sorority was founded on Miami University’s campus in Oxford, Ohio, in 1902. The sorority has over 180,000 alumnae and collegiate members in the United States and Canada. The Delta Zeta Foundation, a nonprofit organization, makes possible gifts and support for scholarships, leadership, philanthropy and education.
