Free Treatment Available For Volunteers In UA Study

The psychology department at The University of Alabama is seeking volunteers to take part in a research study involving self-help treatment for depression. Qualified volunteers will receive free treatment as part of the research project.

UA Wins Seven Awards In Annual Competition

The Office of University Relations at The University of Alabama won seven awards for media relations work, publications and television spots in the annual awards competition sponsored by District III of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). CASE is a national association of college and university public relations, advancement and alumni affairs professionals. District III encompasses nine Southeastern states. The awards were presented recently at CASE District III’s conference in Atlanta.

Long-Time UA Faculty Member Emerson Robert Loomis Dies

E. Robert Loomis, long-time professor of English at The University of Alabama, died Monday, Feb.19 at his home after an extended illness. He was 73.
