Best-selling author Gay Talese will be the featured speaker for The University of Alabama’s spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 19 in Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus. Two University-wide commencement ceremonies will be held this year at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively, to award degrees.
The University of Alabama Society of Women Engineers student chapter is celebrating its 25th anniversary this spring.
Chris Stripling, energy manager for The University of Alabama and a UA alumnus, was recently named Young Engineer of the Year by the Engineering Council of Birmingham. Stripling has implemented energy cost-cutting strategies that have saved the University hundreds of thousands of dollars over a two-year period.
