TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Greater Birmingham Chapter of the Capstone Engineering Society of The University of Alabama College of Engineering will hold the inaugural CES Golf Tournament on Thursday, March 15, at the Tannehill National Golf Course in Birmingham, beginning at 11 a.m.
UA Athletic Director Mal Moore and Dr. Timothy J. Greene, dean of the UA College of Engineering, will participate in the event. The tournament is open to College of Engineering alumni and their spouses and family members and also to friends of the College. The format will be a two-person team scramble.
Along with other awards and prizes for the event, thanks to Crest Cadillac of Birmingham, the prize for a hole-in-one will be a two-year lease of a Cadillac Escalade.
The cost for participation is $100 per player, and registration includes green fees, cart, range balls, beverages, lunch and a souvenir shirt. Individuals or companies can sponsor a hole for $250, receiving signage on the tee, scoreboard recognition, and recognition in the “Capstone Engineer,” the College of Engineering alumni magazine. Proceeds of the golf tournament will benefit the initiatives of the Capstone Engineering Society, which is the UA College of Engineering’s alumni support group.
