UA’s Sarah Moody Gallery Of Art To Present “Arch”

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art at The University of Alabama will present “ARCH” Feb. 16 through March 22.

An opening night reception, which is free and open to the public, will be hosted on Friday, Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m., at the gallery. Additionally, there will be a lecture event featuring artist Scott Reynolds on Thursday, Feb.15, at 7 p.m., in 203 Garland Hall.

This exhibition of sculpture and drawings reflects the continuity of the Modern style in the American cultural landscape. Works by New York artists Barbara Gallucci, Corey McCorkle, Jeff Ono, Michael Phelan, Scott Reynolds and Oona Stern celebrate

the Modern style while investigating its relationship to psychology and culture. Media ranges from cast glass to carpet and vinyl fencing, bringing objects and materials that feel familiar into a gallery context.

Funding support for the Sarah Moody Gallery of Art is provided by the department of art and UA’s College of Arts and Sciences.

The gallery is located in 103 Garland Hall on the UA campus. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 2-5 p.m. on Sundays. For more information on the gallery or upcoming exhibits, call 205/348-1890.
