TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s chapter of Sigma Delta Tau, the international English honor society, recently named scholarship winners.
The students recognized and the scholarships they received were:
Michel Pieter Aaij of Tuscaloosa, the Henry Regnery Endowed Scholarship of $2,500 and the Best Application Essay Award of $200.
Heather Fann of Tuscaloosa, the P.C. Somerville Award for Future Teachers of $500.
Allen Gamel of Aliceville, the Sigma Delta Tau Senior Scholarship of $500.
Members of Sigma Delta Tau are selected for having high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. The honorary seeks to promote interest in literature and the English language on local campuses and in communities.
