Clayton Named Manager of UA’s Physical and Psychiatric Disability Services

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama has named Karen Anderson Clayton as manager of Physical and Psychiatric Disability Services.

Clayton is working with Dr. James Saski, manager of Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders in the Office of Disability Services, in the UA Center for Teaching and Learning. The managers provide students with disabilities equal opportunities to develop and demonstrate their academic skills, while maintaining the integrity of University programs. The goal of the Disability Services Program is to provide individualized academic accommodations and support services where necessary, while promoting student self-advocacy.

Clayton, a native of Phil Campbell, is a certified rehabilitation counselor and has worked for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services for four years before coming to UA. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University.
