Dr. James A. Crank is an associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on representations of class, race and sexuality in southern culture and literature. He is currently exploring images of trash and disposability in southern culture.
Dr. Crank’s areas of expertise include American literature and culture, especially southern literature, Alabama authors, Harper Lee, Gone with the Wind, Randall Kenan, Sam Shepard, drama, film, hip hop, and queer issues.
