Dr. Dingwen Tao’s current research interests include (but not limited to) high-performance computing; parallel and distributed systems; big data analytics; extreme-scale fault tolerance and resilience; accelerator-based computing; scientific data compression; energy-efficient computing; numerical algorithms and software; large-scale simulations; and scientific computing. He is leading the High Performance Data Analytics and Computing Lab, which conducts research and development in the broad area of high performance computing and big data analytics. The lab mission is to develop techniques, design algorithms and build software to improve the performance, reliability and energy efficiency for large-scale computations and big data applications.
