Tim Sutton’s search for a major started at “undecided.” He then tried physics, electrical engineering and computer science. “Turns out, I wasn’t very good at any of those,” said Sutton. Sutton, of Cullman, eventually found his way to the College of Communication and Information Sciences, where he found his niche in telecommunication and film.

The University of Alabama won the 2013 Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive by collecting 299,398 pounds of food to top Auburn University’s collection of 169,702 pounds of food.
A University of Alabama graduate student from the College of Engineering claimed the top prize in the University’s inaugural 3 Minute Thesis competition, while another engineering graduate student won the “People’s Choice” award Wednesday night.
The University of Alabama Circle K student organization will host its annual Luminaries on the Quad event from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. During this community service leadership project, Circle K members arrange thousands of luminary candles on the Quad between Denny Chimes and Gorgas Library and along University Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public.
For the second straight year, The University of Alabama’s PRSSA chapter has won the national College Duck Tape challenge, in addition to other national awards.
