UA Researchers Receive Grant for Community-Based Research
Researchers from The University of Alabama were awarded a three-year, $800,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop and support collaborative research between academic researchers and residents of Alabama communities disproportionately impacted by poor health.
UA Study Looks at Importance of Coping Skills during Hospital Stays
As hospitals move toward family-centered care, there is a greater need to evaluate the response of the whole family, not just the patient. By exploring the relationships between hospitalized children’s anxiety levels and mothers’ coping skills, a University of Alabama researcher hoped to learn more about how the health-care team can promote coping strategies in patients and families.
