A new University of Alabama tradition begins today, turning Alabama pride into support for Alabama students.
In celebration of National College Colors Day, the University Supply Store has unveiled the inaugural Tide Together t-shirt, a limited-edition design celebrating the places, experiences and connections that bring the Alabama community together. Fifty percent of proceeds from shirt sales will benefit the Tide Together Student Support Fund, which helps UA students facing unexpected financial needs.
Each year, a new limited-edition Tide Together t-shirt will continue the initiative and its support for students.
“The Tide Together t-shirt is about more than apparel. It gives the Alabama community an opportunity to come together around something we all share while making a meaningful difference for UA students,” said Bernadette Chavira-Trull, director of the University Supply Store. “Our goal is to build something people look forward to each year, knowing their purchase also helps support students when unexpected needs arise.”

Inspired by the heart of campus
The inaugural Tide Together t-shirt features Denny Chimes, Gorgas Library and the Quad, landmarks that have served as the backdrop for generations of the Alabama experience.
The Quad is where students cross paths on their way to class, meet friends, study, attend events, celebrate traditions and gather on game days. Those shared experiences made the heart of campus a natural inspiration for a shirt centered on community and connection.
Alabama pride in support of Alabama students
Half of the proceeds from each Tide Together t-shirt sold will benefit the Tide Together Student Support Fund, extending the impact of each purchase beyond the person wearing it.
“The Tide Together t-shirt is more than a new UA tradition. It is a powerful expression of what it means to be a community that shows up for one another. As Dean of Students, I know that life can change in an instant, and the support generated through this tradition will help ensure that when our students face unexpected hardships, they know the UA community stands with them,” said Stacy Jones, dean of students and assistant vice president.
Through Tide Together, students, faculty, staff, alumni, families and fans can put their Alabama pride to work for Alabama students.
