Free Tickets to Music Festival Available to UA Students

Students who love a free party will have a chance to see Outkast’s Big Boi and Blackberry Smoke at Tuscaloosa’s Druid City Music Festival on Aug. 24 in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Art for the Druid City Music Fest.University Programs is partnering with Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports to provide students the opportunity to attend the third annual Druid City Music Festival for free.

University Programs is giving students tickets to DCMF and Lyft is offering discounted rates to students for transportation to and from the event. The promotion is part of UA’s annual “Yea, Alabama! Weeks of Welcome.”

Ticket registration opens Aug. 1 at UP’s ticket site.

Tuscaloosa’s premier music festival, features performances from local and regional bands, an array of artists from several different genres, and food sales by Tuscaloosa-area vendors.

DCMF will be held at Government Plaza in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa. Big Boi, of Grammy-winning group Outkast, and Blackberry Smoke are headlining the event, with an array of local and regional artists also set to perform. DCMF will also feature a battle of the bands face-off.
