Online Resource Ranks UA Degree Program in Nursing No. 1

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — An online resource for helping students find appropriate and affordable degree programs has listed The University of Alabama’s online Bachelor of Science program for RNs No. 1 in its field.

The degree is offered in UA’s Capstone College of Nursing.

College Choice, an independent online publication that helps students find and pay for college programs, ranked UA’s RN Mobility – RN to BSN – program first.

“Our 2016 rankings of online bachelor of nursing programs is designed to help find a school that offers a balance between cost and national and regional reputation,” according to the website.

“This is a critical program to help practicing nurses advance in their careers and assume leadership roles,” said Dr. Suzanne S. Prevost, dean of the Capstone College of Nursing. “Since most of these students are going to school while working full time, we make a concerted effort to provide flexibility, support and individualized advising to respond to their unique needs.”

The Capstone College of Nursing’s RN to BSN program of study provides registered nurses who hold an associate’s degree or a diploma in nursing the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a convenient online format. The program can be completed in three semesters and enrolls approximately 230 students a year.

Faculty from UA’s Capstone College of Nursing bring expertise and experience into the online curriculum to provide RN students with the training they need to be successful health-care leaders.
