UA Students Participate in Co-Op Program

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.­­- The University of Alabama’s Cooperative Education Program is an academic program in which a student alternates periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment with professionals in their field. In the program students learn important career-related skills that enhance employment prospects after graduation.

The following University of Alabama students are currently participating in cooperative education positions:

Todd Aycock of Oak Mountain is working for SPAPTA, Inc in Huntsville. Aycock, son of Bill and Robin Aycock, is a 2004 graduate of Oak Mountain High School. He is majoring in electrical and computer engineering with a minor in mathematics. Aycock is a member of the Million Dollar Band at UA.

Bryan Fair of Petal, Miss., is working for M.J. Harris, Inc. in Birmingham. He is the son of Kenneth and Cheryl Fair and is a 2002 graduate of Petal High School. He is a civil engineering major at UA.

Jeremy Fanning of Huntsville is working for Mead Westvaco in Phenix City. Fanning is a double major in computer engineering and math with a minor in computer science. He is the son of Ray and Jane Fanning and a 2003 graduate of Lee High School.

Mary Catherine Finch of Daphne is working for Brasfield and Gorrie in Gulf Shores. She is the daughter of Jim and Wanda Finch and a 2002 graduate of Daphne High School. Finch is a civil engineering major with a general business minor at UA.

Chad Harvell of Pleasant Grove is working for Brasfield and Gorrie in Birmingham. Harvell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harvey and a 2004 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. Harvell is a civil engineering major with a general business minor.

Trey Hayes III of Brilliant is working for ISE Innomotive in Tuscaloosa. Hayes is a 2003 graduate of Brilliant High School and son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hayes, Jr. He is an industrial engineering major with a minor in management.

Michael Hux of Birmingham (35242) is working for Southern Ionics in Holt. He is the son of Clete and Karen Hux and a 2003 graduate of Briarwood Christian High School. Hux is a chemical and biological engineering major.

Timothy Morgan of Muscle Shoals is working at ISE Innomotive in Tuscaloosa. He is the son of Tim and Kim Morgan and a 2004 graduate of Sheffield High School. Morgan is a mechanical engineering major.

Ashley Pate of Carrollton is working at Southern Nuclear Company in Waynesboro, Ga. He is the son of Jerry and Susan Pate and a 2004 graduate of Pickens Academy. Pate is a mechanical engineering major.

Mary-Kathryn Sewell of Helena is working for Southern Nuclear in Baxley, Ga. She is the daughter of Priscilla Collins and a 2004 graduate of Pelham High School. Sewell is a chemical and biological engineering major.

Blake Williams of Northport is working for Elk Corporation of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He is the son of Dan and Mary Anne Williams and a 2004 graduate of Tuscaloosa Academy. Williams is a mechanical engineering major at UA.
