UA Theta Chi Fraternity to Assists in Hurricane Ivan Cleanup

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Members of Theta Chi fraternity at The University of Alabama will travel to the Alabama Gulf Coast on Friday, Sept. 24, to help in the cleanup process for victims of Hurricane Ivan.

Approximately 50 members of Theta Chi fraternity will serve South Alabama communities during the natural disaster cleanup. Fraternity members plan to stay for the entire weekend and return to UA late Sunday night.

“We decided to head down to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach,” said Buddy Handey of the UA Theta Chi chapter. “A lot of us have friends and family down there and we all know how tragic this event was. We just want to lend a helping hand to the families down there in any way we can.”
